This project received a “Highly Commended” award in the Mining Category at the 2022 South African Institute of Steel Construction.
This project demonstrates the massive benefits of integrating 3D modelling with shop detailing to save time and eliminate errors,
Viva Drawing office 3D modelled the Tenova conveyor scope and integrated it with the Sandvik crushing scope. This saved the project time and eliminated potential site interface problems between the two scopes.
Combining 3D modelling with the shop detailing scope, resulted in efficient and cost-effective engineering of the materials handling scope.
Once fabricated, the conveyor gantries were fully assembled off site, complete with mechanicals. These fully assembled gantries were abnormally transported to site and lifted and placed in position on site. This dramatically reduced on site installation time and ensured that the project was completed ahead of schedule
Viva’s scope included the crushing, screening, bins and materials handling scope of 400T of steelwork and 150T of platework.
