Viva fabricated 140T of plate girders. The largest individual assemblies of which were 24m long, weighing 9.10T each.
These large plate girders underwent full Penetration Welding on the Stiffeners to Top Flange and End Plates by using the double MIG GMAW process to insert the root runs. SAW is then used to fill the joint to a fillet weld throat thickness of 8mm.
