Viva Engineering Wins Best Mining & Export Project at The South African Steel Awards 2023

Viva Engineering is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Best Mining and Export Project at the South African Steel Awards 2023 for our work on the Azmet Reactors Project, a technically demanding, cross-border steel fabrication and erection achievement that pushed the boundaries for turnkey delivery.

The Project: Azmet Reactors, DRC

Working alongside our client and structural engineering partner, Viva served as the main contractor on the design, fabrication and delivery of six CRP (Counter-Current Reactor Process) Vessels, each a 320 m³ bolted steel reactor engineered to handle fluid with a bulk density of 1 800 kg/m³.

The reactors were destined for site in the Democratic Republic of Congo, meaning every design and fabrication decision had to account for the full journey, from our workshop in South Africa, across borders and into a constrained live plant environment.
