Viva Engineering was appointed by a Finland-based client to complete the full structural design,
manufacturing drawings, fabrication, corrosion protection, transport and installation of a Lime Silo at SAPPI Ngodwana.
The silo measured 5.9 m in diameter, stood 27 m high and weighed 65T, requiring extensive abnormal road logistics planning and multi-agency approval for transport to site. Installation on site required complex tandem crane lifts due to limited site access. The commissioning was completed during a one-week tie-in to the operational plant.
